Welcome to Mrinalini Datta Mahavidyapith

A CO-EDUCATIONAL DEGREE COLLEGE, WAS ESTABLISHED ON MARCH 5, 1964 BY BIRATI SIKSHA SAMSAD TO CATER PRIMARILY TO THE STUDENTS COMING FROM LOWER MIDDLE CLASS AND POOR FAMILIES OF BIRATI AND ITS ADJOINING RURAL AND SEMI URBAN AREAS.
Initially the college was affiliated to the University of Calcutta upto the session 2007-08 and there after came under the West Bengal State University (Barasat, North 24 Parganas). The Main Objective of the college was to provide quality higher education at afforedable expense and achieve academic excellence.

LIBRARY - Features and Benefits

The Central library of the college has an area of 6000sq.ft.well stocked with books, journals, and computers. Another library with about 5000 books has been set up in the new building for exclusive use of the students enrolled to the Bengali PG department to facilitate easy access of books and reading materials for higher studies.

Admission

The College administration believes in transparency and concentrates on running the whole admission process with sincerity every year. Our college played a pioneering role in introducing online admission and is successfully running the system since the year 2012.


Research

Our faculty members are actively engaged in high quality research and in transferring the results of the research to students and community through their publications, lectures, presentations etc. In the last five years five UGC research projects have been completed and submitted by faculty members.
